Project’s closing conference
(February 11–12, 2011)

The EDUMIGROM research team is pleased to invite you to attend the Project’s closing conference ‘Ethnic Differences in Education across Europe. Potential and Limitations of Social Inclusion through Education for Young People from Second-Generation Migrant and Roma Backgrounds ’ which will be held on 11–12 February, 2011 in Budapest.

Community studies
(February 2009 – June 2010)

The project has launched its empirical stages, involving both quantitative and qualitative analysis. These community-level enquiries will supply both intra- and inter-country comparisons.

Comparative analyses on education and ethnic relations
(November 2008 – March 2009)

The second research phase of EDUMIGROM, by applying a cross-country comparative perspective, focused on exploring similarities and differences among the project’s target countries in three broad topical areas:  inter-ethnic relations, the educational situation of minority ethnic youth, and educational policies attaining inclusion. The three closely related comparative studies rely on the outcome of the 16 background reports that discuss these issues in the domestic contexts.

Country analyses on education and ethnic relations
(April 2008 – October 2008)

The EDUMIGROM project began with the preparation of two sets of macro-level comprehensive studies in each target country, one on education, and another one on ethnic relations. A total of 16 background reports were completed, within this 14 country studies (two each in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia) and 2 mini comparatives (‘Nordic’ reports focusing on Denmark and Sweden).
