Ferenc Eros is a scientific advisor at Institute of Psychology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and full professor at the Department of Social Psychology of University of Pecs. His main research areas include empirical studies and theoretical analyses in the social psychology of identity, inter-group relations, prejudice, social discrimination; the social psychology of social transformations: comparative studies on the social representation of democracy; historical and theoretical questions of psychoanalytic social psychology and the intellectual history of psychoanalysis in Hungary. He participated in several international research groups and received scholarship grants in the United States, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel, and Austria.
