Radim Marada has chaired the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University since 2003. Since 2005, he has led the research team Ethnization-Migration-Identity, within the Institute for the Research on Social Reproduction and Integration. His major areas of interest are sociological theory and history of social thought, cultural sociology, generations and generational conflict, civil society. Recent publications: Culture of Protest: Politicization of Everyday Life (2003), Ethnic Diversity and Civic Unity (2006, editor).
