Maria Nemenyi

Maria Nemenyi has been a principal investigator at the Institute of Sociology since 1981. She is a scientific advisor and head of the Department of Research on Social Change. Her main research areas include social psychology of minority-majority relationship, gender and ethnic identity formation, inequalities and discrimination in education, health care, child protection system. She is the vice-president of MONA (women’s NGO), and board member of the Roma Parliament (a Roma NGO). She is the president of the Sociological Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Her recent research project has focused on identity formation of Roma adolescents.
