"The Roma/Non-Roma Test Score Gap in Hungary"

"The Roma/Non-Roma Test Score Gap in Hungary": an article was recently published by Gabor Kertesi and Gabor Kezdi in the American Economic Review. The paper documents and decomposes the test score gap between Roma and non-Roma 8th graders in Hungary in 2006. The data connect national standardized test scores to an individual panel survey with detailed data on ethnicity and family background; it is clearly explained that the educational gap is due to social disadvantages, and ethnicity plays no additional role.
